Lesson Outcomes
This lesson seeks to let you:
- Understand why orientation is necessary.
- Know the tools required for successful orientation.
- Learn strategies to maximise Orientation
- Learn strategies to excel in the Orientation School
1. BE PURPOSEFUL
- Know that God brought you here for a purpose; being here is not by chance.
2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. - The reason for being here must be fulfilled.
A house is built for shelter; A Vehicle is built for commuting. You are here to be equipped to be effective in the ministry. God hates unproductivity. He hates to find us without use, or without purpose or bringing no Glory to Him.
Mt. 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. - Seek counsel where and when you must.
Pro. 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Ask for clarity when you have any questions or you lack full understanding on anything.
2. BE ORDERLY AND DISCIPLINED
- Stay disciplined to excel
- Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Daniel 1:15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. - Discipline
1. To prepare by instructing in correct principles and habits; as, to discipline youth for a profession, or for future usefulness.
2. To instruct and govern; to teach rules and practice, and accustom to order and subordination; as, to discipline troops or an army.
3. SERVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY
- It’s all about service no matter where you are located.
Phil 2:6-8 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Luke 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
Deut 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
